Behind Bella Sotta is, first and foremost, a family. We are Carole and Guillaume, both business owners from the Doubs region of eastern France, parents to Louis and Arthur, and long-time lovers of Corsica. We have discovered the island gradually over several decades, visiting in summer and out of season, taking the time to explore it, understand its rhythms and appreciate its contrasts and subtleties.
To us, Corsica is not simply a destination to be consumed. It is a land that deserves to be understood, respected and approached with care — a place to which we always return with the same sense of pleasure. This is why Bella Sotta is not an opportunistic venture, but the natural expression of our deep attachment to Southern Corsica.
Over the years, we have explored many different parts of the island. Gradually, one thing became clear: Southern Corsica, between Bonifacio and Porto-Vecchio, is where we feel most at home.
There is something quite rare about this area. It brings together exceptionally beautiful beaches, genuine authenticity and the freedom to explore with ease. Distances remain manageable, and it is possible to travel from a secluded cove to a lively village without spending hours in the car. For families, and for travellers seeking peace and quiet, this is a discreet yet essential luxury.
Carole finds everything she loves here: the sea, the beaches, snorkelling and long hours spent observing the clear seabed and the shifting light beneath the surface.
For Guillaume, the sea has always been part of his story. A former sea rescuer, he enjoys diving, swimming and running — and Southern Corsica is an extraordinary place for all three.
Bella Sotta was originally created for our own family: a place to enjoy out of season, occasionally in the height of summer and, one day, to spend more time in when the pace of our professional lives begins to slow. It is a home designed for the long term, not a property conceived solely around a constant flow of guests.
Having rented many holiday homes ourselves, we know what makes a genuine difference. A house can look beautiful in photographs yet prove uncomfortable in everyday life. By contrast, a thoughtfully designed home quickly becomes effortless to live in — and that is precisely what makes it so valuable.
We therefore paid close attention to the quality of the materials, the facilities, everyday comfort and ease of use. The furniture, services and atmosphere have all been chosen with care and consistency. Design, aesthetics and the feeling of space and tranquillity are an integral part of the way we live. Bella Sotta reflects who we are: understated, warm, functional and made to last.
For us, quality also means offering a thoughtful welcome. This is why we chose to work with an established, professional and experienced local concierge service. This partnership allows us to provide a reliable, attentive and genuinely personal welcome — exactly what we would expect ourselves as travellers.
High standards need never come at the expense of warmth. Quite the opposite.
Respect for the property, clear communication and attentive support are essential if everyone is to feel comfortable, relaxed and confident. This shared commitment enables Bella Sotta to remain beautiful over time and allows every stay to unfold peacefully.
We hope to welcome guests who share these values: people who come to Bella Sotta in search of peace, the beauty of the maquis and easy access to the sea, away from unnecessary bustle — and who will care for the house as though it were their own.
If we have chosen to tell our story here, it is simply to share this: Bella Sotta is not an anonymous holiday rental. It is a home shaped by a clear intention, a family story and a deep attachment to Southern Corsica.
We hope you will experience the same feeling we have each time we arrive: the quiet certainty of being exactly where you are meant to be.
