The Figari Coves: Easy Walks and Hidden Beaches near Bella Sotta

When choosing Bella Sotta as our base in Sotta, one of our main criteria was quick access to authentic, less crowded beaches, close to nature. Nothing complicated, no long or demanding tracks—just the feeling of reaching the sea within minutes. That is exactly what the Figari coves offer: a peaceful 10 to 15-minute drive from the house, followed by a gentle 5 to 10-minute walk through the maquis. The result? A beach almost to yourself, even in the heart of summer.

Easy Access, Gentle Roads and Short Trails through the Maquis

To reach these coves, you leave the main road and take a well-maintained yet quiet access road. By car, allow around 10 to 15 minutes from Sotta to the designated parking areas. Once parked, a short, well-kept path through the maquis leads to several coves: about 5 to 10 minutes of walking on flat ground, making access genuinely easy even with children or beach gear.
The further you go along the small secondary roads, the closer you get to true calm: smaller car parks, fewer visitors, and that precious feeling of being alone—or almost.

Confidential Beaches, Far from the Crowds, Even in August

We discovered one of these coves on August 8th, right in the middle of peak season—and yet: one parasol 150 metres away, just two or three families in the distance, no traffic noise, almost no cars nearby.
The seabed may not be as perfect as that of the ultra-famous beaches, but the setting more than makes up for it: crystal-clear water, rock, maquis and absolute tranquillity. According to a local guide, the Figari coves are among the most pleasant spots “away from the bustle” of the main coastline.
For our guests at Bella Sotta, this is a major advantage: enjoying the sea without overcrowded beaches.

Why This Proximity Is One of Bella Sotta’s Key Assets

Being based in Sotta means having the privilege of being very close to the Figari coves without taking the national road or the main Porto-Vecchio / Bonifacio axis, which is heavily congested in summer.
The house allows us to leave early or late, avoid heavy traffic, and reach beaches that feel “almost private.” It makes all the difference on holiday: you savour the moment, relax, and return home unhurried.
It is this combination of easy access and genuine calm that makes Bella Sotta not just a place to stay, but a smart choice for those who want to combine proximity to the sea with true serenity.
