Among the seaside restaurants of Southern Corsica, some retain a soul that time never alters. L’Acciaro Beach is one of those precious addresses, quietly shared among regulars almost in a whisper. Set on a stunning beach just next to the famous Palombaggia, this restaurant combines simplicity, honest cuisine and a deeply Corsican atmosphere.
It has been one of our favourite spots for years and remains one of the most genuine ways to experience coastal life, far from overly touristy addresses.
L’Acciaro sits on a discreet stretch of sand, a true hidden gem right beside Palombaggia, yet without its crowds.
Here, the water is crystal-clear, the sand fine and the light extraordinary. The beach also includes a discreet and well-integrated naturist area, which blends naturally into the surroundings and never disturbs the overall atmosphere. The spirit of the place remains calm, respectful and welcoming to all.
Dining at L’Acciaro quite literally means eating with your feet in the sand, with the sea just a few metres away and that deep blue horizon shifting throughout the day.
It is an ideal place to alternate between lunch, swimming and pure relaxation, especially outside the peak season when the beach reveals all its gentle charm.
One of L’Acciaro’s greatest strengths is its authenticity.
Here, there are no passing trends or overly elaborate menus. Locals know the address, visit throughout the year and readily recommend it.
You often find the same waitstaff, giving the place a warm, almost family-like atmosphere.
The cuisine is simple yet perfectly executed: grilled fish, clam pasta, generous salads, homemade desserts…
We have been coming here for years, in the height of summer as well as in April or October.
And every time, the experience is the same: honest dishes, a beautiful view and friendly service. L’Acciaro is a restaurant that never pretends.
The only small downside is the paid parking at the entrance to the beach.
In reality, this quickly fades into the background. You walk through, settle in, and the day unfolds to the rhythm of the sea. The advantage of a managed car park is that it helps preserve the beach and keeps it noticeably calmer than the large free car parks of Palombaggia.
After lunch, nothing prevents you from extending the day on the beach: swimming, a walk along the shoreline, a nap in the shade of the pines… For those staying at Bella Sotta, L’Acciaro Beach is a perfect escape: simple, genuine and full of light.
From Sotta, head towards Porto-Vecchio, then follow the Palombaggia route before turning off towards L’Acciaro.
Be mindful of the one-way descent leading to the car park: stubborn drivers may find themselves having to reverse quite a distance!
Once there, you will be in the ideal setting to enjoy a day combining restaurant, beach and relaxation.
