Stone, aged teak and natural materials are combined with contemporary lines and large sliding glass doors that bring both light and landscape into the house. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedding has been carefully selected and air conditioning provides genuine comfort during the Corsican summer.
We wanted a house that felt authentic without being rustic and elegant without being ostentatious.

What probably defines Bella Sotta most is its relationship with the surrounding landscape.
The house sits on the hills of Sotta, facing the maquis and the Corsican countryside. There is no sea at the end of the garden, and that is entirely intentional. Instead, there is an immense horizon, the greens and ochres of Mediterranean vegetation, olive trees moving in the wind and that distinctive Southern Corsican light that transforms the landscape throughout the day.
We can genuinely spend hours simply looking at the view.
The house also has a heated saltwater swimming pool, surrounded by an intentionally more contemporary outdoor area. In the morning, you can have coffee beneath the pergola. During the afternoon, the pool provides a welcome place to cool off. At the end of the day, the light gradually softens across the hills.
It is a simple form of luxury, far removed from the bustle that can surround Palombaggia or Santa Giulia during the peak summer season.
For us, the quality of a bergerie cannot therefore be measured solely by its facilities. It also lies in how you feel when you decide not to go to the beach after all and spend the entire day at home.

Porto-Vecchio and its shops are within easy reach, while Santa Giulia is around 15 minutes away in good traffic conditions and Bonifacio approximately 25 minutes away.
This location makes it possible to enjoy the peace of the Corsican maquis without organising your entire holiday around the traffic and activity of the coastal resorts.
